Services: Obstetrics
We have three obstetricians available in one convenient location in the Northgate area of Seattle. Your initial visit includes an extended review of your health history so that we may identify key points that will optimize your pregnancy. A physical exam and blood tests may be done.
Throughout your pregnancy, routine tests will be performed. To make the process as simple as possible, blood tests, non-stress tests, and biophysical profiles can be performed conveniently in our office. Ultrasound studies are also done on-site or at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center just a short drive away.
In addition to uncomplicated pregnancies, we care for women with high-risk pregnancies, such as those with previous miscarriages and those pregnancies accompanied by medical complications. We are also proud to continue to offer vaginal births for patients who have previously had cesarean sections.
When it comes time for your delivery, we believe that the care and facilities at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center are ideal. The Childbirth Center provides an intimate setting with private rooms so that the place you have your baby is the place you remain-you will not be shuffled from one room to another. A well trained staff and 24-hour anesthesia services complete the picture.

Circumcision: Our physicians perform male circumcisions in the newborn period. This can either be done in the hospital following delivery or in the office. We use a local anesthetic to ensure that this procedure is as comfortable as possible for your infant. Our office staff is happy to assist you in determining your insurance coverage for a circumcision.
3-D-Ultrasound: Meridian Women's Health is proud to be able to provide our patients with state-of-the-art Live 3-D technology that allows physicians and sonographers to acquire real-time images in a single action, resulting in images of unparalleled quality that allows extraordinary diagnostic accuracy.
Cord Blood Banking
At the time of your baby’s birth, you have an option to collect and save the cord blood. It is rich in blood stem cells that can be lifesaving to the child and other family members. Cord blood is used today in treating 70 diseases including leukemia, other cancers, and blood disorders. Doctors are working to develop stem cell treatments for heart disease, juvenile diabetes, brain injury and more.
The blood is stored in a special, secure blood bank and later can be used for lifesaving therapies at the time of your choosing.
Your baby will be a perfect match for the cells, and the baby’s mother can also use the cells due to her carrying the child during pregnancy. The most common use for cord blood stem cells is between siblings. Any family member who is a suitable genetic match may use the cells if needed.
A number of companies provide private cord blood banking services. There is an initial setup charge of $1,200-1,900 and an annual fee of approximately $125 for as long as your deposit is stored in the private bank. Several of the companies allow for a baby registry allowing family members to donate toward the cost of the cord blood banking services. Northwest Hospital currently does not provide public donation. We encourage you to discuss any questions you may have and your options with your doctor.
